Custom Mapping on Contacts

Hi,

If I have Contact settings set to “Not update existing record with new data” will custom mappings for Contacts only apply to newly created Contacts?

  Custom mapping will apply to the contact associated with the transaction record. This means that whether a new contact is created or an existing contact is updated (depending on your "Contact settings" configuration), the custom mapping rules will be used for that specific contact linked to the transaction.
