Click & Pledge's "Click & Pay Suite" app for Salesforce makes use of a feature called 'Salesforce Sites' so that your organization does not have additional costs to send custom emails and publish events online. These sites are used with Autoresponder, Invoicing, Event Management, Patron Portal, and Store/Events.
This article details creation of a Salesforce Site Domain and Site if you have not created these yet.
Create Site to Use With Click & Pay Suite
Site Domain
The Site Domain in Salesforce where you will be creating your "Sites" is different from setting up "My Domain" "My Domain" affects the URL you use to work within Salesforce. Site Domain affects the URL used to create public sites or Communities.
The site is needed for Autoresponder, Invoicing, Event Management, Patron Portal, and Store/Events.
By using this feature of Salesforce, your organization does not have to purchase an SSL or provide hosting to have an Event page. If you have setup your Salesforce Site Domain, do so using the following steps.
- In Salesforce, click the gear icon at the top right and select Setup.
- Type 'Site' in the Quick Find box on the left column. DO NOT hit enter.
- Click on 'Sites'
- On the Sites page, you can choose a domain name for your Salesforce Site. We recommend entering the same text as your domain for your primary website, e.g., 'ClickandPledge' (from our site, 'https://clickandpledge.com/'). Click the Check Availability button and make changes to the domain name if necessary.
- Once you have chosen a domain and checked the Terms of Use box, click "Register My Salesforce Site domain".
Create Site to Use With Click & Pay Suite
Under Sites click the New button. Enter information as shown in the following screenshot. All other fields will be populated automatically. Click the Save button when all information has been added.
Assign Site Guest Permissions
Got to Settings > Maintenance > Site Guest User Permission.
If it is not already there, move the Site you have just created to the box on the right. Click the "Assign permission to the guest user" button. This will take 5 - 10 minutes.
Site creation is complete.
