C&P’s General Ledger follows the syntax of QuickBooks. Within C&P General Ledger you can create your General Ledger, Classes, Sub classes, and Allocations. Or you may download the template, fill in the desired information, then upload it with the “File Upload” button.

General Ledgers
Click the “+ NEW” button to create a new General Ledger Account or select Edit from the Action list on an existing General Ledger Account.
Enter the Account Type – the broadest category of your formal bookkeeping, e.g., Assets, Equity, Income, etc.
Enter the Name assigned to the Account in the General Ledger. For example, an Account with the Account Number “4010” might be named “4010-Contributions – Individual”, or just “Contributions – Individual”.
Enter the “Sub Account Of.” This is a sub-heading of the Account Type. For example, you might have an Account Type of “Income” and a Sub Account of “Contributions.”
Enter the Account Number used to define this account. For example, “4010” as used in the example above.
Enter a Description for this account.
Add any Notes that may be needed for Account clarification.
Save your work.
Classes
Class Names are the broadest way of optionally classifying your transactions for management purposes vs. the way you use Accounts and Sub Accounts to categorize for accounting purposes.
Click the “+ NEW” button to create new General Ledger Classes & Subclasses or select Edit from the Action list on an existing General Ledger Account.
Enter the Class Name and its Description.
Enter the Subclass Name and its Description. Multiple Subclasses may be added for each Class.
Save your work.
Allocations
Click the “+ NEW” button to create new General Ledger Allocations or select Edit from the Action list on an existing General Ledger Allocation.
Assign a processing order.
Based On – Sets the “operating” condition for when to apply the rule. Allocations may be added based on one of the following.
Campaign SKU: This SKU is assigned in the CONNECT Campaign under Campaign Details > Basic Information > Campaign SKU
Fundraiser: Individuals that are raising money on behalf of your Organization through our Peer-to-Peer Site features
Item SKU: This SKU may be assigned in several places. They are:
- CONNECT Campaign > Payment Settings > Payment Options
- CONNECT Campaign > Campaign Details > Donor Offset Fees
- CONNECT Campaign > Campaign Details > Custom Questions (as SKU suffix)
- Salesforce > Contact > Quick Charge
- Click & Pay > Settings > Virtual Terminal > Basic
- Click & Pay Settings > Virtual Terminal > Basic > Pledge Payment
- Click & Pay Settings > Virtual Terminal > Default Items
- Click & Pay Vault > Virtual Terminal > Batch Upload, Report Batch Upload, and Manual Batch Entry
- Click & Pay Vault > Invoice
- Click & Pay Vault > Invoice Policy > Late Fee, Additional Payment
- Click & Pay Vault > Pledge -- SKU Conditions
- Click & Pay Store Events > Catalog > Store Products > Data

Item GAU: The GAU may be assigned in several places. They are:
- CONNECT Campaign > Payment Settings > Payment Options
- CONNECT Campaign > Campaign Details > Donor Offset Fees
- Salesforce > Vault > Virtual Terminal
Miscellaneous Fee: This will be used to create opportunities for Tax, discount, and convenience fee.
Transaction Campaign - Enter the name of the Transaction Campaign you would like the opportunity to be created for.
Select the Condition for the allocation.
Assign the SKU or Campaign if applicable based on the conditions that have been selected.
Suballocations
Multiple Suballocations may be added.
Enter the following information:
Class Name
Subclass Name
Account Number
General Ledger Account Name
Auto Allocation (%) for each Suballocation you are adding. Auto Allocation is the percentage of the item’s amount to allocate to a specific Account Number, Class, or Subclass.
Click the Save button.
Opportunity Allocation
Click the “+ NEW” button to create new Opportunity Allocations or select Edit from the Action list on an existing Opportunity Allocation.
Assign a processing order.
