Opportunity / Opportunity Product Mapping helps to update the Attendee details and Attendee contact under Opportunity. These are the fields which need to be mapped with the respective Opportunity.
NOTE: The following steps explain how to add the custom fields for Opportunity mapping.
If you use Opportunity Products, please see the instruction under OPPORTUNITY PRODUCTS USERS for special instructions before creating custom fields.
1. ATTENDEE CONTACT
2. ATTENDEE NAME
3. ADDITIONAL FEE
4. TRANSACTION TOTAL CHARGED
5. TOTAL ATTENDEE COUNT
6. ATTENDEE NUMBER
1. Attendee Contact:
A custom field needs to be added to the Opportunity Object to map the Attendee Contact. To create a custom field for Attendee Contact, please follow these steps:
- Click the gear in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Object Manager
- Begin typing the word Opportunity in the search field
- Select Opportunity
- Click on Fields & Relationships
- Click New
Select ‘Lookup Relationship’ as the field type and click ‘Next’.
Select the object related to Contact and click ‘Next’.
Enter the Field Label so that it will autofill the Field Name and click ‘Next’

Establish the field-level security for the reference field by giving permissions for the desired profiles and click ‘Next’.
Add the reference field to the Opportunity layout by enabling the checkbox and click ‘Next’.
Click ‘Save’ to save the custom field.
After creating the custom field, go to Event Management > Additional Information > Event > Edit > Opportunity/Opportunity Product Mapping > Attendee Contact.
You will find the newly added custom field on the picklist.
2. Attendee Name:
A custom field needs to be added to the Opportunity Object to map the Attendee Name. To create a custom field for Attendee Name, please follow these steps:
- Click the gear in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Object Manager
- Begin typing the word Opportunity in the search field
- Select Opportunity
- Click on Fields & Relationships
- Click New
Select ‘Lookup Relationship’ as the field type and click ‘Next’.
Select the object related to C&P Event Registered Attendee and click ‘Next’.
Enter the Field Label so that it will autofill the Field Name and click ‘Next’.
Establish the field-level security for the reference field by giving permissions for the desired profiles and click ‘Next’.
Add the reference field to the Opportunity layout by enabling the checkbox and click ‘Next’.
Click ‘Save’ to save the custom field.
After creating the custom field, go to Event Management > Additional Information > Event > Edit > Opportunity/Opportunity Product Mapping > Attendee Name.
You will find the newly added custom field on the picklist.
Here is the process of calculating Additional Fee with an example:
Unit Price = $100
Additional Fee = $10
Discount = $4
Tax = $2
Total = Unit Price + Additional Fee – Discount + Tax = 100 + 10 – 4 + 2 = $108
Fraction = Additional Fee / Total= 10/108 = 0.0909
Additional Fee = Fraction / Total = 0.0909 / 108 = $9.82
A custom field needs to be added to the Opportunity Object to map the Additional Fee field. To create a custom field for Additional Fee, please follow these steps:
- Click the gear in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Object Manager
- Begin typing the word Opportunity in the search field
- Select Opportunity
- Click on Fields & Relationships
- Click New
Select ‘Currency’ as the field type and click ‘Next’.
Enter the Field Label so that it will autofill the Field Name also. Keep the Length as "18" and Decimal Places as "0". Click ‘Next’.
Establish the field-level security for the reference field by giving permissions for the desired profiles and click ‘Next’.
Add the reference field to the Opportunity layout by enabling the checkbox and click save.
After creating the custom field, go to Event Management > Additional Information > Event > Edit > Opportunity/Opportunity Product Mapping > Additional Fee.
You will find the newly added custom field on the picklist.
4. Transaction: Total Charged:
A custom field needs to be added to the Opportunity Object to map the Total Charged field. To create a custom field for Total Charged, please follow these steps:
- Click the gear in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Object Manager
- Begin typing the word Opportunity in the search field
- Select Opportunity
- Click on Fields & Relationships
- Click New
Select ‘Currency’ as the field type and click ‘Next’.
Enter the Field Label so that it will autofill the Field Name also. The maximum length of the decimal value should not exceed 18. Based upon the requirement, share the left and right side decimal point and click ‘Next’.
Establish the field-level security for the reference field by giving permissions for the desired profiles and click ‘Next’.
Add the reference field to the Opportunity layout by enabling the checkbox and click save.
After creating the custom field, go to Event Management > Additional Information > Event > Edit > Opportunity/Opportunity Product Mapping > Total Charged.
You will find the newly added custom field on the picklist.
Total Attendee Count is the total number of attendees registered in that transaction.
Example: If there are 4 attendees added by a registrant then the total attendee count is 4.

- Click the gear in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Object Manager
- Begin typing the word Opportunity in the search field
- Select Opportunity
- Click on Fields & Relationships
- Click New
Select ‘Number’ as the field type and click ‘Next’.
Enter the Field Label so that it will autofill the Field Name also. The maximum length of the decimal value should not exceed 18. Based upon the requirement, share the left and right side decimal point and click ‘Next’.

Add the reference field to the Opportunity layout by enabling the checkbox and click save.
After creating the custom field, go to Event Management > Additional Information > Event > Edit > Opportunity/Opportunity Product Mapping > Total Attendee Count.
You will find the newly added custom field on the picklist.

Attendee number is the number given to each attendee while processing the transaction.
Example: If the total attendees in a transaction is 4 an opportunity will be created for each attendee.
If you open the opportunity of the 1st attendee out 4 attendees, then the Attendee Number will be 1.
If you open the opportunity of the 2nd attendee out 4 attendees, then the Attendee Number will be 2.
If you open the opportunity of the 3rd attendee out 4 attendees, then the Attendee Number will be 3.
If you open the opportunity of the 4th attendee out 4 attendees, then the Attendee Number will be 4.

NOTE: If the custom fields need to be added for Opportunity Products, then instead of creating the custom fields in the Opportunity section, create in Opportunity Products Sections. Please follow the same steps as shown above.
