The Backup & Restore option available in Swiper1 is more than just a simple backup. The feature has specifically been designed to provide an easy method to replicate Account and catalog settings from one device to another. Here are a few specific features:
- Backup to the cloud minimizes local storage use.
- Only one backup per User ID / account.
- QR-Code links to the backup.
- Restore from SAME "account" users through email to same account.
- Restore from OTHER "account" users through QR-Code. The QR code may be used to restore settings to multiple accounts owned by the organization.
To access Backup & Restore, click the Navigation: Menu (three lines, bottom of the screen)
Available options are:
- Backup button is to store the information.
- Restore button is to replicate the information to other devices.
- QR-Code is to share the information with others. When this option is selected, it will direct you to a screen with options for sharing the QR code. If you have multiple Click & Pledge accounts, you may use the QR code to share settings with any of the accounts.
Backup the Data
- Click on the Backup button to view the Backup options.
- You can select to back up the store, settings or both.
- After selecting the backup option, click on Backup to store the data.
Restore a Backup
- There are two options available in the restore screen:
- What to restore
- From where to restore.
The user can restore only store, only settings, or both.
- The user can restore the data from his / her own backup. By selecting this option, the following screen will be displayed.
- Click on the Other user’s backup, enter the other user’s email address and click on continue to restore the data. This option will only restore to the same account number that was used for backup.
- By selecting the QR-Code, the camera will be turned ON to scan the QR-Code that was received to be used for Restore.
The following steps will apply for both restore options.
- Enter the email address of the user that created the backup and click Continue
- Select the recover option - Add to existing store, or replace existing store. Click Continue.
- You will receive a message that the settings have been restored.
