Shoutout is a feature your organization can use to send a custom "shoutout" audio or video message. Shoutouts are sent individually as links via email or SMS.
Shoutouts are created and sent primarily using Swiper1. Shoutout's default settings, library of recordings, and log are accessed in CONNECT. Shoutouts can also be sent from existing recordings or from the transaction detail in CONNECT. This article describes the aspects of Shoutout in Swiper1 and their function. Create a Shoutout
Creating a Shoutout involves recording an audio or visual message, specifying the email or mobile number needed to send the Shoutout, and sending it.

Create the recording
- Manual Entry option in Swiper1 - creates a recording and offers immediate option to send via entering an email or mobile phone number.
- Select a transaction from Swiper1's Shoutout Transaction List - creates the recording, and auto-populates email and/or phone number based on the transaction's information
- Scan a Shoutout QR Code.
You may scan a QR code for a specific transaction in several locations:- CONNECT - Transaction Detail Screen

- Contact record
- Opportunity record
- Shoutout recording screen
- Select the tab to select a video or audio recording
- Press the orange button to begin and then end your recording
- Review your recording. You may opt to delete the recording or record it again. Click "Submit" to proceed.
- Shoutout Recording Properties - Enter a filename for your recording, and specify if your recording is generic or personalized for a specific patron or transaction. Click Submit to proceed.

- Select a tab to send the recording via email or SMS.
For email, you may edit the From Name, Sent From Email, Reply to Email, the default Subject, and default Email message in CONNECT > Shoutout > Settings
Similarly, you may edit the Twilio number to send from, and the default SMS message in CONNECT > Shoutout > Settings
- Click "Send Message" to send your Shoutout.

Send shoutouts from prior recordings in CONNECT from the Shoutout Recording Library , the Shoutout Log , or from Transaction Detail screen.
Shoutout Recipient Experience
The recipient will either receive an email or a text message with a link to the Shoutout recording. The default text for the message is set in CONNECT > Fundraising > Shoutout > Settings and the Swiper1 user may edit it prior to sending.

When the Recipient clicks on the link, they are taken to a web page where the Shoutout player can be used to view/listen to their Shoutout.
Shoutout Transaction List
The Shoutout Transaction List is your starting point to create and manage Shoutouts in Swiper1. The list includes authorized transactions in descending order based on the filter criteria. Shoutouts for custom payments, declines, issued credits, and pre-authorizations can be sent manually directly from CONNECT's Transaction Details or by QR Code options in Donor Management with Salesforce (PaaS).
- Search for a specific transaction based on the Patron's First Name OR Last Name (not both)
- Choose a recent transaction for a Shoutout Recording. Set the number of days available for the List with "Filter List "
- Scan a Shoutout QR Code with "QR Code"
- Create a Shoutout with "Manual Entry"
- Modify the Shoutout Transaction List, using the "Filter List". Filter by an amount range or by whether or not a Shoutout has been sent. Set the sort order by Amount, Last Name, or Transaction Date
