The Click & Pledge Payment as a Service Application on Salesforce includes a Virtual Terminal for manually entering transactions. Within Settings > Virtual Terminal you may enter in default information to customize and speed up transaction processing. Whatever changes made here will affect the Virtual Terminal screen.
If you have multiple Click & Pledge accounts, you may create custom settings for each account. Included in this are:

Click & Pledge Account Information
This is the Account number the Virtual Terminal settings will be applied to. If you have more than one Click & Pledge account, you may add different settings for each Account.
Basic
Tax Deductible Options:
Tax Deductible – selecting this will calculate the tax-deductible amount based on Percent.
Fair Market Value – requires entering a fixed amount to be excluded from the tax-deductible Amount. The calculated value will appear on receipts if the merge field is included in the CONNECT Receipt.
The calculated amount of the option selected will populate the C&P Tax Deductible currency field on the Opportunity or Opportunity Product.
Listing/Lookup Options:
- List default items: other items may be added (Limit 400). If this option is selected, then the “Default Items” will be displayed in the VIRTUAL TERMINAL page. Also, the user may add additional items.
- List default items: no other items may be added (Limit 400). If this option is selected, then only “Default Items” will be displayed in the VIRTUAL TERMINAL page. The user may not add any additional items in the cart.
- Lookup: default items are the only allowed items to be added as picklist (Limit 600). If this option is selected, then a picklist will be displayed on the VIRTUAL TERMINAL page where the user may select the item from the pick list. Only one item may be selected. The user may not add any additional items in the cart other than the default items.
- Lookup: default items are the only allowed items to be added as autocomplete (Limit 600). If this option is selected begin typing the item name, and you will see a picklist with available options. Select the item you wish to use and the remaining fields on the item will auto complete.
NOTE: The following information will be displayed in the Payment Description section of C&P Virtual Terminal tab.
Set the defaults for "Add New Item" in the virtual termianl.
You may enter text here that will pre-fill in the Virtual Terminal. If the “Edit” checkbox is enabled, then the user may change the information. If the “Edit” checkbox is disabled, then the user may not change the information.

Other Fees:
The amount given in the Total Shipping and/or Additional Fee (such as convenience fee) fields will be displayed on the C&P Virtual Terminal page. If the “Show” checkbox is enabled, then the user may change the amount. If the “Show” checkbox is disabled, then the user may not change the amount.
Opportunity Lookup
Billing / Shipping Address
Note: You are not required to collect or show the shipping Address
- Default Country - Select the Default Country from the drop-down menu. This may be changed on C&P Virtual Terminal page.
- Default State - Select the Default State from the drop-down menu. This may be changed on C&P Virtual Terminal page.
- Shipping same as Billing - By enabling the “Shipping Address same as billing” checkbox, the billing address will be used as the shipping address for the transaction. On the Virtual Terminal page, you will see “Use Same address as Billing, with the checkbox enabled. The user may uncheck the box and enter a different billing address.
Shipping Address - By enabling the “Show” checkbox, the Shipping Address field will be visible in C&P Virtual Terminal page.
Tracker and Campaign
- Tracker - Enter the tracker name in the textbox. The “Show” checkbox of Tracker will decide whether to display Tracker option in C&P Virtual Terminal page or not.
- Transaction Campaign - Click on the Lookup and select the Transaction Campaign to set as default. The “Show” checkbox of Transaction Campaign will decide whether to display the option in C&P Virtual Terminal page or not.
- CONNECT Campaign / Form Name - The “Show” checkbox will determine whether to display CONNECT Campaign/Form Name field in C&P Virtual Terminal page or not
Recurring Payment
- To allow Recurring Payments in the Virtual Terminal, check the box next to “Is this a recurring payment.” If “Show” checkbox is not checked, the default value entered will be the only option available in the Virtual Terminal and it may not be changed.
- TTo see the Recurring Type options on the Virtual Terminal page, enable the “Show” checkbox. If “Show” checkbox is not checked, the default value entered will be the only option available in the Virtual Terminal and it may not be changed.
- Recurring Type - There are two options in Recurring type: Subscription & Installment. The option selected will be displayed, but the user may select the other option from the drop-down menu in the VIRTUAL TERMINAL page.
- Periodicity - Select how often the payment will process from the drop-down menu which will be displayed in the Virtual Terminal page. If the “Show” checkbox is enabled, then the option will be displayed on the Virtual Terminal page, else it will not display.
- When Subscription is selected, the full amount will be charged for each recurring transaction
- Installment – When Installment is selected, the amount will be divided over the number of installments entered in the field below.
- Indefinite Recurring - The Indefinite Recurring is only available for subscriptions. If the checkbox is enabled, the number of installments will be set to 999. If the checkbox is disabled, then the user has the choice of enabling the checkbox on the Virtual Terminal page.
- Default # of installments may not exceed 999.
- End Date - If you would like to set an End Date for the Recurring Transaction, enter it here, Enable the “Show” checkbox so that it will appear on the Virtual Terminal page.
Other Options
- Charge Date - If you check the box, users will be allowed to change the date from the current date to a future date. Past dates are not allowed for transactions.
- Entry Mode - Set the default entry mode to Manual or Card Reader.
Default Items
The information given here will be displayed in the Payment Description section of C&P Virtual Terminal tab.
Click the “+ ADD” button to create a new Default Item or select from the Action list to insert a default item before the one you are on, edit the default item, or delete the default item.
Fields available for setting default items are Processing Order, Payment for (item name), SKU, Item GAU, Quantity, Unit price ($), Unit Discount ($), Unit Tax ($), Tax Deductible amount ($) and Item Campaign
Receipt Customization
Enable the “Send CONNECT Receipt” checkbox to send a transaction receipt.
Select the CONNECT Receipt Template to be sent.
Customize the receipt by adding the Receipt Header, and Terms & Conditions if applicable.
Internal Notification enter email address(es) for those in your organization who need to be notified when a transaction is processed.
Make sure that the “Show” checkbox is enabled so that it will appear in the Virtual Terminal page.
Additional Questions
Enable the “Allow adding questions in VT” checkbox if you would like users to be able to add custom questions when they are processing transactions.
Additional Questions List
The questions & answers which are given here will be displayed on the Virtual Terminal page. Questions may not be edited but answers may be edited.
Click the “+ ADD” button to create a new Custom Question.
Processing Order – Numbers entered here will determine the order the questions are displayed in the Virtual Terminal.
Questions – Enter the question (maximum number of characters is 200).
Option Type – Options for the answer format are Check Box, Picklist, Radio Box, Text Area, Text Box.
Answer – Answers field for Text Area and Text Box may be left blank in Settings and the answer entered in the Virtual Terminal. Answers for Checkbox, Picklist, or Radio Button should be entered in the Answers field. Separate answers with a semicolon. If mapping to a Salesforce field, best practice is to use the same values you have set for the mapped fields.
Mandatory - By enabling the mandatory checkbox, the user must answer the question in the Virtual Terminal page. Mandatory answers text-area will be indicated by a red line.
Payment Methods
Select the Payment Method(s) you wish to use in the virtual terminal. Available Payment Methods will be determined by CONNECT > Settings > Payment Methods.
Select the default payment method(s) for the Virtual Terminal page.
Advanced Features
Here you may assign the Authorization redirect page, Decline redirect page, and Error redirect page. For creating the visual force pages, you may use the Salesforce parameters listed under the redirect fields.
Third Party
This field will be displayed only when Double the Donation is integrated to Click & Pledge (Vault > Settings > Third Party).
