# Lorem Ipsum Community Foundation > We empower underserved families in the greater Springfield region through education, workforce training, and emergency assistance programs. ## About The Lorem Ipsum Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Springfield, founded in 2003 by a coalition of local educators and social workers. Over the past two decades, the Foundation has provided more than $4.2 million in direct services to over 12,000 families across the tri-county area. Awards range from $500 to $5,000 per student based on financial need and academic merit. Over 840 scholarships have been awarded since the program launched in 2005. - Family Bridge Housing: Emergency rental assistance and transitional housing support for families facing eviction. We partner with 14 local landlords and 3 shelters to provide up to 6 months of housing stability. Served 380 families in 2025. - Career Launchpad: A 12-week workforce development program that includes resume building, interview coaching, professional certification, job placement, and 6 months of post-placement support. Our job placement rate is 73%. - Summer Learning Camp: Free 6-week summer enrichment program for students in grades K through 8, combining reading and math instruction with outdoor recreation and arts activities. Serves 150 children each summer at three sites. - Community Food Pantry: Weekly food distribution serving over 200 families per week, operated in partnership with the Regional Food Bank.
